Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes
Season 1
Episode 7
“Break-Out” pt 2

Original Air Date: 10/20/10

Major Characters:
Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp, Hawkeye
Guest Starring:
Nick Fury, Graviton

Episode 7 picks up where 6 left off, Graviton facing off against Nick Fury. It flashs back 10 years ago and we see the origin of Graviton, how a SHIELD scientist named Franklin Hall became Graviton and was captured by SHIELD. We come back to the present, a couple of minutes before the end of episode 6 and see what happened to Hall before he lifted the Raft into the air.

The episode revolves around the various Avengers; Iron Man, Thor, Wasp, Ant-Man, Hulk; arriving and joining forces to take on Graviton.

It’s a well written episode. Each member of the team stands out distinctly. The weakness is Graviton’s personality as he’s pretty one dimensional. His back story does provide some moments as he’s connected to SHIELD and Fury. Each Avenger gets their moment against Graviton where they seem to be able to handle him but then get beat back and it’s only when all 5 come together that they are able to stop him.

The action and the threat keeps escalating and they don’t skimp on the destruction. They do a good job of keeping it fairly violent, but without showing any innocents in extreme danger. You get the sense of the danger even if you don’t see the effects first hand on innocent civilians.

It’s a good blending of the original Avengers origin with the more modern Ultimates version, coming together to make something new but still has the feel of the original.

Avengers: Earth’s Mightest Heroes Episode 7 “Break-Out” pt 2 receives
4.5 out of 5

Great episode that ramps up the action and gives a clear focus and reason for the group to come together.
