One word review: Octoboss!

The second in the six part series of the Kirkmanverse team book establishing the new larger globe spanning Gaurdians of the Globe, or Gaurdians Auxiliary. This is a book full of humor that fits snuggly into Kirkman’s corner of the Universe.

The second issue in this mini series adds Kaboomarang to the international line up. They face off against Octoboss in an underwater kingdom that harkens back to early issues of Invincible. Octoboss shows the humor and skill of this book, a funny character that is also well drawn and oddly but well executed.

Kirkman is sharing writing duties with Cereno. In the letters page Cereno details the writing process of collaborating. Both work on the plot lines. Kirkman scripted most of the first issue. Cereno scripted most of the second. Kirkman tweeks and edits. The end product is a smooth addition to the world, a book that builds on the mythology of Kirkmania, and works well.
