Unless you’ve been in a coma in Kentucky, then you know that Walking Dead is one of Image’s top selling books, a pioneer in the zombie genre, and about to become a TV series on AMC. Even non-comic readers are starting to discover this long running series which is already available in serial, trades, hard covers, and special editions. Now, non-comic readers don’t have to go as far as a book store graphic novel aisle to discover the Walking Dead. Because the show is premiering at the end of the month, the first three trades have been spotted at Walmart. Now the hordes of Walmart shoppers across America can discover the story of Rick Grimes at roll back prices. The price sticker is easily rolled off for the discerning Walmart comic collector.

From the Official Image Press Stubs
In THE WALKING DEAD, a comic series created and written by Robert Kirkman (INVINCIBLE, THE ASTOUNDING WOLF-MAN) with art by Charlie Adlard, an epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. Rick Grimes finds himself one of the few survivors in this terrifying future. Separated from his family, he must now sort through all the death and confusion to try and find his wife and son.

The AMC TV series based on THE WALKING DEAD comic book debuts October 31, 2010.

The Walking Dead takes home the prize for ‘Best Comic Book or Graphic Novel’ a fine companion to the Eisner bestowed upon the series in July 2010 at SDCC.
