This was an interesting book to say the least. It’s got alot of charm to it though. The story flows with an almost lyrical quality. And the art reminds me of the movie “A Nightmare Before Christmas”.

The whole package comes together interestingly. It’s nice, but intersting is the better word to use for it.

It’s definately unique, style and story.

It’s worth checking out, but the package and price might be a turn-off to most people. I think if packaged as a soft cover it would appeal to more people, especially where it ends up being only the first part and ends on a cliffhanger.

I enjoyed it, and it’s not the normal type of book I go for. You really have to pay attention because there’s lots of little things added to the background that just gives the entire thing a fun quality even with the overly-morbid nature of the story.

What the story is about is a big odd, as it goes alot of places and yet doesn’t get anywhere. But in a way it works. There’s alot revealed and nothing answered. But it works.

I could almost see the images move as I read, like I was watching it as a movie. This is something I could see Tim Burton doing.

The God Machine receives
4 out of 5

Definately a unique book thats well worth the look.
