Krul is starting to get a better handle on his cast. The conversations, banter and captions feel smoother, more natural. Robin still seems a bit over the top characterwise, like it’s his normal personality but cranked up to 12. The banter between him and Ravager, and their “team-up” at the end, are really well done though.

The story moves along better, things starting to come to a head. Having the three kids team-up doesn’t work though, as the other two are the ones that bullied Barney. It doesn’t feel right for him to just side with them because the doctor said so. These were his oppressors and now that he has power and so do they, they are equals? That part just didn’t work as well as the rest of the issue.

I’m enjoying the Ravager character, as well as Wonder Girl’s maturing as leader.

Scott’s art is very nice. She’s not a nice grasp of figures and movement. My only complaint is still that single tooth on Beast Boy. It just doesn’t look right and drives me nuts when I see it. She does a great job showing the differences in heights and sizes between the team members.

This book is getting better. The new teams start wasn’t the best, but it’s starting to gel.
