New Spring, the graphic novel, will be released on Jan 18th from Tor Books.
New Spring graphic novel is based on the American masterpiece by Robert Jordan. New Spring was adapted by Chuck Dixon, Mike Miller, and Harvey Tolibao, as single issues #1-8, which will now be collected as a visual adaptation of Jordan’s prequel to the Wheel of Time series.

One of the features of this adaptation is that fans can now visualize the sword forms described within the story. The character of Lan is a sword master, and writer Robert Jordan took care to describe the sword play in manners that are more realistic than the smash and bash descriptions found in Robert Jordan’s Conan series. Lan’s forms are described in the prose version as “soft rain at sunset,” and other picturesque names, leaving the reader to imagine the action.

The graphic novel features extra material from the mini-series, including sketches and emails from Robert Jordan to the creators laying out the look and feel of the world of the Wheel of Time in incredible detail.

See the full preview on Tor’s Site. See your local comic book shop, or favorite book dealer, about picking up your copy on the 18th! Discuss all things Wheel of Time, on the Pryde forums.
