The end of the Emperor Dragon arc and the end of Dragon himself.

One thing can be said for Erik Larsen and that is he doesn’t hold anything back. There’s no storyline that is out of reach for him in this book. Also the man has to be given plenty of props for allowing the book to grow. People come, they go, they die, they get born and they age. This is the only comic I can think of where characters age somewhat naturally. It makes for interesting storytelling.

This wasn’t how I figured it would end. I knew that at some point in the future Malcolm, Dragon’s son, would take over the book, Larsen had made that clear years ago. This wasn’t how I thought it would happen. Dragon’s brain got eaten and Emperor Kurr took control of the body and proceeded to destroy the world.

I like how Larsen gives Dragon the ability to redeem himself. It brings things full circle and also helps save the world. I like how Darklord calls Dragon a wildcard and a curse. Which is true in a way. Dragon may be a good guy but life for the world and people around him hasn’t been all that good.

But the way that Larsen does away with Dragon? That’s definately a shocker for a main character to be removed from a book.

Good job Erik. I can’t wait to see what adventures Malcolm gets into.
