Did you ever wonder what would happen when Dinosaurs are running wild in a desert town? Well this series should be your answer!

A Cattle Herder is missing and cattle have been mutilated. The local authorities rule out wolves and coyotes so what can it be? Well after they find the missing herder’s mutilated corpse along with his horse’s corpse, the FBI is brought in. And even they aren’t enough!

Since this is a Jurassic Park comic book, we all know that the unknown beast will turn out to be a dinosaur of some kind. What I liked was that Byrne didn’t actually show any of the beasts until the end of the story.. and really that is only the beginning of what this town is about to endure .

John Byrne does a great job of showing the emotions of the towns’ people through both his art and writing. The art pops from the page with excellent colors. And while this story starts out strong, I don’t know exactly how long a book like this can maintain interest without becoming stagnant or uttely predictable.

However I am interested in seeing how the dino’s wound up near this town.

Devils in the Desert receives 3.5 out of 5 stars
