Darkness: Four Horsemen #3 (of 4)

Darkness is still facing off against the foursome in a small town which may become the epicenter for the battle that decides the fate of the world. This issue is more of the same for Darkness and then some. Jakie is no stranger to mythology that effects the fate of the world. Jackie is no stranger to battling the bizarre either. In the first two issues the four steel horsemen of the apocalypse have moved as a herd of death and suffering. In the third their power is perhaps less terrifying because it is battling the darklings instead of townspeople. The effects are still clearly drawn even if Jackie’s unholy power can take it.

Surprisingly, one of the doom riders finally breaks apart from the crowd. After the other three return to a bar to wait on pending doom, one rider stays to provide the needed backstory to Jackie and the reader. The origin of these bikers is not completely shocking. Four tough bikers driven into the desert had a run in with supernatural forces for over thirty years. They finally break free only because the end of the world is nigh.

In fact, the two forces which created the four horsemen is coming and look pissed at the end of the comic anticipating an action packed fourth issue in this mini series.

From David Hine (Batman: Arkham Asylum) and up-and-coming artist Jeff Wamester (RAZE).
