This is an interesting way to do the second issue. Being that ‘Gods’ is only three issues it really is a different way to do it. This issue shows the events leading up to the last page of issue one from the B.P.R.D.s viewpoint. In one respect it’s kind of a waste of an issue as the overall story doesn’t evolve much at all. But on the other it does help show what led up to the last page.

The story itself is extremely important to the overall mythos as it explains alot and helps set up what Fenix will most likely end up being. So in that regards it makes alot of sense to include this part of it. But in the context of being only three issues?

The history lesson is well done. I like the way it’s presented. It seems important but at the same time is presented as the ravings of a lunatic. How much is real and how much ravings? That’s the interesting part.

Davis’ art isn’t as good as the first issue. It’s still solid but some of the panels seem lacking or rushed. The first panel of Devon especially seems off. The head comes off as flat and without dimension. Overall the work is good, just not as good as it’s been.

B.P.R.D. Hell On Earth: Gods #2 receives
3.5 out of 5

It feels almost like a waste of an issue but it does carry important story elements.
