As described by her creator, Sam Johnson:
No longer willing to let her boyfriend/pimp treat her like dirt, Cabra Cini got lethal payback with the help of voodoo magik–and liked it. Voodoo became her new addiction and Cabra has cleaned up her act and forged a deadly new vocation…

The story presented in Digital Visions #4 is short but interesting. The idea behind Cabra Cini is a good one. I’d like to see it more fully explored, as well as the rest of her world. The idea of the ‘Infinity’ is very cool and I like that it’s an area she has to struggle to get through. That adds a layer to her personality. She must have a strong reason to do what she does, if she voluntarily goes through the ‘Infinity’ and it’s trials each time.

Johnson does a good job of portraying how an abused victim feels. He shows all sides: the self loathing, the love for the abuser, the hate for the abuser. He doesn’t pull any punches. Cabra’s fairly blunt. She talks as if she hates herself. It’s an interesting take on a character and an interesting place to start the story from.

Letizia’s art is pretty solid. He’s got a good grasp of storytelling. His panels flow smoothly with no jumps in the action. His figures are well proportioned and he has a good grasp on perspective.

The only negative with be the use of shadows. There’s a couple of panels where the shadows are overwhelming and Letizia’s art really could have shined if we had been able to see and the figures weren’t covered completely in shadow.

Cabra Cini: Voodoo Junkie Hitwoman #1 receives
4 out of 5

A good start to an interesting story.
