Green Arrow says it best: “I can’t help but feel cheated”.

We’ve spent 12 issues building up Oliver’s connection to the Star City forest. Twelve issues showing that the forest is special to Star City. Twelve issues (not quite but you get the point) of showing Galahad as the Knight of the Forest.

And it’s all for nothing.

Just like that, Galahad has no connection to the forest. He’s just a crazy man. The Forest has no special meaning for Green Arrow. And at the end, once the true purpose of the forest is revealed, Green Arrow is right back where he’s always been, a “hero of the people” as the editor calls him in the letters page.

Isn’t that what Green Arrow has always been?

So after all that happened; Star City being destroyed, Lian’s death, the murder of Prometheus; it all means nothing?

I feel cheated.

What was the point of the last twelve issues? The stories ultimately mean nothing. What happens to Galahad now?

I haven’t been a big fan of Krul’s Green Arrow since he started on the title and this issue shows exactly why.

Neves has had some decent work in Green Arrow but this issue is not one of them. The weaknesses of his work are on display. He’s never quite gotten a handle on Green Arrow’s outfit. It’s never looked quite right. Besides being plain looking, it’s just never sat well on Oliver under Neves’ pencil and looked really bad throughout this issue. The layouts are odd as well.

Not Neves best work.

Twelve issues for this?
