I said in my last review of this series that I’m worried about the impact it will have. It comes out bi-monthly and so much has changed, and will change, in the landscape of the Marvel Universe. This issue has so much major impact, so many momentous moments that can have major impact on the MU, it’s hard to really appreciate them without knowing if they will end up mattering at all.

Scott Lang is back. Where does that fit into the MU? Does this series take place post-Fear Itself? Will we see Lang show up somewhere else after the major event? Rictor gets his powers back in this issue. When does that show up in X-Factor? And if he doesn’t keep them, when does that show up in X-Factor?

Where does this series fit? Without knowing that, the potential impact is lessened.

How did Hawkeye, Jessica Jones and the Beast arrive where the Young Avengers and Wanda are? That is an odd mix to be at that precise spot and it comes across as forced because those are the exact three that are needed to move the story along. Jessica Jones had a prior relationship with Scott Lang. Hawkeye was “killed” by Wanda and the Beast is there to suggest that she undo M-Day. For a book that has been pretty top notch, this is not what I would have expected.

I have nothing to say about Cheung’s work except: awesome.
