The GeeksverseChew #19

Chew #19
Published on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 by

Last issue jumped continuity rules, and standard numbering, to bring Chew from the future. Does that make the rest of the year a flash back to a future we have already glimpsed?

This is John Layman at his best, in control of out of control characters but with a purpose and apparently without limitations. Unlike his Godzilla: Gangsters and Goliaths, Layman is at the top of his form.

Issue #19, now following #27, picks ups with assassinations, executions, eliminations, and annihilations all on the first page. Blam!

E.G.G. the anti-government force is poaching world leaders. Playfully, Layman throws in a two page prologue that does not happen, but could. This is a convoluted time line play but it makes sense. This comic has everything you could possibly want, including pink babies, aliens, blood, speedo limited nakedness, all in that wacky art by Rob Guillory. This is a quirky comic that appeals to the best of the creator owned outrageous but driven comics and the audiences that love them.
