Sonic Universe #31: Scourge Lockdown 3 of 4

No Sonic, just a jail full of frustration. The third part of the Sonic Universe prison story finishes the gang assembly from last issue.

Ian Flynn is doing a great job handling the ensemble cast. Each gang member’s back story is told succinctly with great art by Tracy Yardley and Jim Amash. It is a fun group of eclectics. The all ages prison story works well. The ninja and freak, handy members to have around, help facilitate the start of the escape. The prison world itself is great, with a fun circular world that is easily understandable. The odd gravity provides interesting postures and body shapes that may not be anatomically realistic but are anamorphic fun.

Scourge has learned his lesson in #30 and has pulled himself back together. He’s mean again along with his green. The poundings are about to go the other direction. Scourge has taken and now Scourge will return.

This is living up to the HeroCon hype. This arc may lack the social commentary of Kevin Keller #2, but it is still a lot of fun. Discuss on the Pryde Forum.
