The GeeksverseDynamite return of Living Corpse!

Dynamite return of Living Corpse!
Published on Saturday, October 1, 2011 by

Living Corpse: Exhumed #1 (of 6) marks this character finding a new home. The restart of this series is a continuation at a new publisher similar to the recent move Hack/Slash made to Image. Living Corpse has found its way to Dynamite and started again. This issue recaps what has been before but it also changes the book’s characters pointing to a new direction.

The recap has the potential to be annoying to old readers. As presented it won’t be. The recap is presented like Tales from the Crypt with an other worldly narrator. Interestingly the recap is fairly short yet long. The narration is brief, but the sparse words are spread across double page spreads. The recap is short but takes up room in this issue. However, it is a nice recap for readers old and new an needed to restart this series.

This character is not supposed to be a Night of the Living Dead rip-off according to the crypt keeper style narrator. That seems untrue since this is John Romero as the central character. The zombie is more action oriented and aware than the Romero slow zombies.

Overall this is a fun return from a character that has needed a new home. It is nice to see him once again on the comic shop shelves.

THE LIVING CORPSE rises from the grave in an all new 6 issue mini-series!
It’s hard enough to be The Living Corpse – the flies, the hunger for human brains and the unending task of holding off the hordes of darkness from creeping into the world of the living. But when a Nosferatu suddenly moves into his graveyard, all hell breaks loose! And what will happen when The Living Corpse’s friend, Lilith, get’s caught in the middle? It’s a battle of the undead and only one will be left standing! (here’s a hint… the name of the book ain’t Nosferatu!)
