Hack/Slash/Eva #4 (of 4) Review

Monster’s Ball concludes with action and heartfelt forgetting that is not forgettable. This is a fun hop across the comic shop shelf for Cassie Hack and her lumbering Vlad into Dynamite Comics. Brandon Jerwa pens Cassie well, creating a story that fits into Tim Seeley’s Image comics run without disrupting continuity.

The team up works well. Cezar Razek draws monsters and freaks with as much deftness as he handles the two similar looking heroines.

A set of characters that Brandon Jerwa or Tim Seeley should continue is the Ghosts of Old Detroit. A mini series of hunting werewolves around Detroit could be an interesting team book. The characters are already established in this mini series. Someone needs to flesh them into titular characters.

It’s time for the final cut(s)! Reality is shifting, the streets of Detroit are running red with the blood of the fallen… and at least one of our heroes will be changed forever before the battle is over!

If you’re looking for more Hack/Slash, then check out the Image series which also put out an installment of Cassie and friends this week. “INTER-DIMENSIONAL WOMEN’S PRISON BREAKOUT,” Part One
