Lego Superheros and Friends

BrickBlogger reports that Lego Super Hero sets are now available. I admit that I side with the sentiment that the Bionicle looking hero line is strange. $14.99 does not make the set anymore attractive.

#4526 LEGO SUPER HEROES Batman – $14.99
This is the large customizable and fully poseable version of the Dark Knight to punish the villains of Gotham City with a powered-up suit and sword!

The Green Lantern and Joker look about as odd in the larger hero maker line. Meanwhile, the traditional Lego minifigure versions of the DC superheroes are a better looking line. The giant Lex Luthor robot is awesome. It is menacing even for the toughest of the brick heroes.

In other Lego news, I agree with the BrickBlogger editorial that Lego is missing the mark with the forced women’s line. Earlier attempts at creating Legos building fun for young girls have been more successful. I think it is oddly gender biased that little girls won’t enjoy Lego Heroes, especially since it has women in the line. The non-standard figure has never worked out well for Lego fans. Instead, the world of Lego needs more accessories and less figure redesigns… although the interchangeable hair pieces are potentially great.

And let’s face it, even Lego Friends is still cooler than the clunky Kre-O.
