This issue is the wrap-up to the AoA’s X-Men’s adventure with the Uncanny X-Force and the set-up for the upcoming Age of Apocalypse series.

And for that purpose it does a good job. I’m not sure why this is an issue of Uncanny X-Force and not Age of Apocalypse #0 or something, but it still serves as a good lead-in to that series.

I like the tie-in to the Age of M, with Wanda and the “no more mutants” line. I like how it’s the last desperate plan of the remaining humans. I liked the introduction of Prophet, William Stryker. I like how he shows what a non-powered human is capable of.

Remender does a great job of showing how hopeless life is for humans in the AoA. The dark times are shown very well. The bitterness of the situation, all that is well done.

I wasn’t sure if the upcoming AoA series would be worth picking up, but this lead-in sets up an interesting story. It’s something that I’ll be picking up for sure now.

Tan’s art is excellant. His style, with the colors, fit the tone of the issue perfectly.

Uncanny X-Force #19.1 receives
