G.I. Joe #10
Published by: IDW Publishing
Written by: Chuck Dixon
Art by: Alex Cal

Now these are Joe stories. Good military action. Good characterization. High stakes. I hope Wratchet survived. I liked her stuttering. I’m liking that Cal is doing the art for all of Cobra Command. It’s nice seeing a unified look. Nice seeing some of the old toys on the pages. The Buzz Boars actually looked cool.

X-Factor #231
Published by: Marvel Comics
Written by: Peter David
Penciled by: Emanuela Lupacchino

X-Factor is a great book. Only Madrox appears in this issue, which is mostly spent in a world where the Scarlet Witch said “No More Humans”. I’m not a fan of other dimensional stories, but I can deal with them when they’re like this, quick ins and outs. Seeing a Captain America/Deathlok was neat.

Defenders #3
Published by: Marvel Comics
Written by: Matt Fraction
Penciled by: Terry Dodson

This was a bit hard to follow. Entertaining, but hard to follow. The team has a different vibe and feel then other team books. Interesting mix of characters. Loving the little bits on the bottom of the pages. Excellant Dodson art, as always.

Batwing #6
Published by: DC Comics
Written by: Judd Winick
Art by: Ben Oliver

The story is interesting. Winick is trying to make Batwing an interesting character. The suit is horrible and so is the name, but Winick is trying. I don’t like the idea of the Kingdom. The New 52 DCU is new, adding in this whole other super group that was operating seems to not fit in with the backstory of the New 52. I like Oliver’s work, but wish he would stop with this completely blacked out figures. It comes across as lazy. He’s too talented to do that.
