I guess I’m a little confused with how this ends. Hope manifests the Phoenix force, but it’s on it’s way from space? So how does she have it? I suppose (hope, no pun intended) get the answer to that in AvX, which I’m still not looking forward to.

This mini-series just seemed like a waste. The fights were useless and I don’t remember Hope and Cyclops showing up at the end of issue 3. I just don’t understand what the point was. Did Cable know he would fail and get stopped by the Avengers?

Loeb can be a good writer, but this mini-series he was just decent. Wolverine didn’t feel/sound like Wolverine. He makes an odd statement about how Cable should have known that attacking the Avengers would lead him to conflict with Wolverine. How? Was Wolverine part of the Avengers when Cable was still in this timeline? Spider-Man’s appearance was completely useless, a waste of time. It seems his inclusion was just to help market the issue. And he was annoying too.

This mini-series could have been streamlined and been a double sized issue and still have the same elements in it. I’m not sure what I think about the loss of the techno-virus from Cable’s system. Since when can Hope do that? And why hasn’t she manifested the Phoenix before?

Oh well, bring on Avengers vs X-Men so we can get some resolution.

McGuiness’ work wasn’t his best. I wonder how much this book being late was affected by that. It looks like a simplified version of his normal style. And I don’t know if this book was truly late or they pushed it back so it would end right at the start of AvX (which means they should have scheduled the earlier issues to come out later).
