IDW Publishing had a presence at C2E2 and made some big announcements.

The panel was moderated by Dirk Wood, VP of Marketing, and consisted of J.K. Woodward (Star Trek/Doctor Who), Kevin Colden (The Crow), Jon Armstrong (Smoke & Mirrors), Mike Costa (Smoke & Mirrors and G.I. Joe: Cobra), Ryan Browne (Smoke & Mirrors).

J.K. Woodward spoke about the upcoming Star Trek/Dr. Who crossover, saying it was the first time the BBC have allowed the Doctor to crossover with other characters. Dirk Wood added that The Next Generation crew was a better fit then the original ’60s crew.

Upcoming series, that have already been mentioned, were talked about real quick; including The Crow, KISS, Transformers: Regeneration, Mars Attacks, The Rocketeer: Cargo Of Doom, Judge Dredd, The Cape: 1969, Roger Landridge’s Popeye, Frankenstein Alive Alive, and John Byrne’s Trio.

Mike Costa talked about the upcoming changes to Cobra. He said that #12 serves as an epilogue to everything that has come before and that #13 takes it in a different direction. Flint becomes a major character in the book. Flint’s new unit’s “entire purpose is to take care of problems without anyone knowing the problem exists.”

Costa stated that artist Antonio Fuso was offered work by Marvel but turned it down to stay working on Cobra.

Costa also said that he will be writing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’s one-shot starring Casey Jones with screenwriter Ben Epstein.

David Mazzucchelli’s Daredevil: Born Again artists edition will be coming soon. A Spirit Artist Edition is in the works as well as a Sergio Aragones.

During the Q&A a fan asked if there would be more Dungeons & Dragons comics coming by John Rogers and the answer was “more then likely”.
