Quick Thought Reviews For 04/18/12
Published on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 by

Another week of comics has come and gone and it’s time to talk about some of the books.

Justice League #8
Published by: DC Comics
Written by: Geoff Johns
Art by: Carlos D’Anda and Ivan Reis

One of the better issues. I really liked D’anda’s art. Good stuff. Green Arrow was a bit annoying and I’m interested in seeing what the other team Steve Trevor is hooking him up with. Also interesting that Trevor was part of Team 7 and unlike some other places that think just because he’s in Team 7 it means he’s got the Gen-Factor, I’m not going down that path yet. Just because Team 7 is in the DCU doesn’t mean the Gen-Factor is. Interesting thing going on with the Martian Manhunter.

X-Factor #234
Published by: Marvel Comics
Written by: Peter David
Art by: Leonard Kirk

Another excellent issue by David. It still amazes me how well he handles the large cast of X-Factor. The explanation of Layla’s powers was brilliant. Kirk’s work is dynamite.

Wonder Woman #8
Published by: DC Comics
Written by: Brian Azzarello
Art by: Cliff Chiang

Another solid issue from Azzarello. I really like the new direction he’s taking Wonder Woman. Love the new interpretation of the gods. And Chiang is really starting to get a feel for Diana. She never looked better. I still think this character isn’t the same one as in Justice League. Just doesn’t read/feel the same.

Danger Girl/Army Of Darkness #5
Published by: Dynamite Entertainment
Written by: Andy Hartnell
Art by: Chris Bolson

I wish Bolson was doing the art for the new IDW DG series, Revolver. This has been a fun little cross-over. This issue had a couple plot jumps and sequences that were jumpy, but all in all a fun issue.
