Smallville season 11?
Published on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 by

I haven’t read KryptonSite.com since the end of Smallville. I haven’t paid attention to any Smallville news since the discussion of the box set that I didn’t want to buy given that I already own the regular season sets. So, I completely missed the announcement of Smallville Season 11 as a comic.

I am familiar with shows like Buffy, Angel, DollsHouse, and others using comics to continue their stories after the series ends. It is an interesting approach to release the next season on print. Luckily, Smallville hasn’t waited as long as Charmed to return to the public’s attention.

When Smaville first hit the WB I was a fan. My friends and I would have Smallville nights and then spend time discussing the episodes. We were in Nerdvana. Unfortunately as the show dragged on we wound up finishing most nights together discussing how it should be cancelled. We wanted it to end big, but it just kept going. Each season brought more rumors of capes. Even at the end some of the episodes and stories were cool. Sadly, by the end Oliver Queen/Green Arrow was the best part of the show and more entertaining than watching Clark brood, but it had its moments. The last episode left my group of friends pleased it was over and looking forward to CW’s Arrow.  Now it’s back? Now it’s finally giving us the capes and Batman that we wanted for ten years?

I’m not sure how I feel about that.

Then again, I do like the DC titles that resist the rest of the continuity like the modern Young Justice or Batman Beyond Unlimited. Maybe I would like a Superman title that isn’t going to be sucked into the rest of the titles business.

Season 11!

Smallville Fans Rejoice! New Comic Book Series, SMALLVILLE SEASON 11, to Pick Up Where Show Left Off

Fans of the smash-hit TV series Smallville haven’t had much to cheer about since the show ended its critically acclaimed 10-year run on The CW last May.  That’s all going to change with the upcoming new comic book series from DC Entertainment: SMALLVILLE SEASON 11.  Written by former Smallville show scribe Bryan Q. Miller, the new digital first series will be published digitally on April 13, 2012, with new digital chapters released weekly thereafter.  Additionally, the online chapters will be offered in a print periodical, along with an episode guide to the hit television series, with the first print issue released on May 16.

The new comic book series picks-up where the show left off (with Clark officially now as Superman!) and features other fan-favorite characters including Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Chloe Sullivan-Queen, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and General Lane.  The book features an all-star creative team – in addition to Miller, SMALLVILLE SEASON 11 creators include print cover artist Gary Frank (SUPERMAN SECRET ORIGIN), digital cover artist Cat Staggs and interiors by Pere Perez (BATGIRL).

“Six months after Clark Kent donned the cape and took to the skies to save Earth from Apokolips… enter Season 11!” enthuses Miller.  “New allies abound!  New enemies afoot!  And old friends return where they’re least expected!  Pere and colorist Chris Beckett have done a fantastic job of capturing the look of the show and the players, and Gary and Cat are knocking it out of the park on covers. I couldn’t be more excited to help give seasoned viewers and new readers an all-access pass to Clark’s first year in the cape.”

Additionally Digitally

A new chapter of the Smallville Season 11 digital comic, titled “Guardian,” is finally available to purchase.

Written by Bryan Q. Miller and illustrated by Pere Perez, many favorite characters including Clark, Lois, Lex, and… someone else come into play here, and it can downloaded for 99 cents on several apps.

Here’s a guide of where you can find it!
