More Marvel Now! Details Revealed

Marvel Now! is the name being given to the relauch of Marvel’s titles after Avengers vs X-Men. More and more details are being released.

Entertainment Weekly revealed the cover to Uncanny Avengers #1.

Uncanny Avengers will be written by Rick Remender with art by John Cassaday. The book is described as the “bridge” book dealing with the fallout of Avengers vs X-Men and shaping the new landscape of the Marvel Universe. Havok will be the team leader.

Marvel Editor Tom Brevoort spoke with Newsarama and revealed alot about Marvel Now!.

Brevoort stated that Secret Avengers and Avengers Assemble will continue. Avengers will relaunch and be written by Jonathan Hickman with Jerome Opena on art for the opening arc. Opena will be followed by Adam Kubert, Dustin Weaver and then Mike Deodato. Avengers will also come twice a month. New Avengers will relaunch in January 2013, again written by Hickman with art by Steve Epting. There will be a 3rd Avengers book written by Hickman.

Brian Michael Bendis will be writing All-New X-Men which sees the original team of mutants transported to the future. The art will be by Stuat Immonen.

Brevoort states that there will be around 20 or so titles being relaunched as a result of Marvel Now!. In an interview with Comic Book Resources Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso stated that not all books would be getting relaunched or affected. Among those not being touched would be X-Factor and Daredevil.

It was emphasized that this was not a reboot.
