Keith Giffen now Writing He-Man

He-Man.org reports that Keith Giffen replaces James Robinson as writer of He-Man and Masters of the Universe with issue #2.That seems like a fast change of the creator line up that may not bode well for the series despite the resume of the new writer. Keith Giffen has written OMAC and GREEN ARROW, has joined HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE as writer, starting with issue #2 out on September 5.Giffen will continue the stories of many favorite heroes and villains from Eternia in the six issue, limited print series. He-Man.org asked Giffen to share his thoughts on joining HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and he explained:

“He-Man and friends were a big part of my son’s young life. That meant that they became a big part of my life too. I can still rattle off the plotlines to more than a few of the cartoons and am still pretty good at reattaching the arms and legs of woefully abused action figures. I’m thinking that more than qualifies me to write the HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE a comic book. Well… that and the fact that I so want to. I mean, c’mon… it’s He-Man!”

Issue #1 of HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE is on sale now, and keep an eye out for Giffen’s first issue (#2) coming in September.

    • This is not good news for the series and might indicate a bigger problem at DC.  It was a 6 issue mini-series that was announced months ago.  Robinson should have had all 6 scripts done by now, not just #1.  #1 came out this month and #2 won’t be until September?  Some part of the story is missing here…

      •  I agree with “…part of the story is missing…” and “:-” that as a limited series it should have been done. Of course, I still think that mini series should be nearly finished before the first issue hits the shelves in order to keep them moving.

I’m glad I added this title to my pull list because I may forget it happened by September.

    • I’m sure Mattel is pleased by this, too. :-
