Woods To Write Ongoing Star Wars
Published on Thursday, July 12, 2012 by

It was announced today that Brian Woods will be writing an ongoing Star Wars title, for Dark Horse Comics, that takes place between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.

The new series will start in January 2013 and will have Carlos D’Anda (Batman: Arkham City) on art and covers by Alex Ross.

It will pick up in the aftermath of A New Hope and span the three years between movies. Woods says that the story may catch up to the Empire Strikes Back at some point.

Woods says that “I have to remember who the characters are at this point in time. To not write the Luke and the Han that I know, but write who they were in 1977. To stay in character. That’s harder than you might think since so much of who they are as characters developed in those later films.”

Read the full interview with Woods on the project over at Comic Book Resources and look for more information to come out of the Dark Horse panels at SDCC.
