Bloodshot the Movie

Valiant is back on the comic shop shelves and may be coming to a theater near you!Superherohype is reporting that Bloodshot will soon become a movie. With Valiant Comics returning to prominence this year it was only a matter of time before the popular characters from the comics line created by publisher Jim Shooter in 1992 would start seeing some possible movement on the movie front. Eventually? How about now!  Sony Pictures (Spider-Man and Fantastic Four) and Neal Moritz’s Original Film  (The Green Hornet) have teamed to acquire the rights to make a movie based on the Valiant Comics series, Bloodshot, a deal that came out of the purchase of a spec script by Jeff Wadlow.

Given that the announcement about the film hit the world wide webs before the comic returned to the comic shop shelves, this seems like a fast move.  In fact, SuperheroHype reports that the roots of Bloodshot the movie stretch back before Valiant was re-releasing Harbringer and X-O. At one point, X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn was developing a movie based on Bloodshot. Vaughn reportedly is no longer a part of the equation in bringing Bloodshot to the screen, even though he did mention Wadlow’s script when SuperheroHype spoke to the director last year.

Given the timeline, one has to wonder how closely the script to the movie will follow the new Bloodshot reboot. Bloodshot was always a gritty 90s character, but the most recent rebooted issue #1 has upped the gore considerably.

What do you want to see from a Bloodshot movie?
