Second Round Of Marvel Now!

Marvel released another round of teasers and are now announcing the books that will make up the second round of Marvel Now!

The teaser said “Wanted” and Hopeless/Larocca. Now it’s been revealed that the creative team will be launching a new ongoing called Cable & X-Force. Comic Book Resources sat down and talked with Dennis Hopeless for an exclusive interview describing the new book.

I like most of the characters involved. I haven’t read a thing by Hopeless. As long as the hook, the reason they are wanted, is good this could be a solid book. It’ll at least look good with Larocca on art. Although I have to wonder, what will happen to X-Men? The adjectiveless X-Men, currently written by Brian Wood, stars a team consisting of Storm, Psylocke, Pixie, Domino and Colossus. With Domino and Colossus are the outlaw team, wouldn’t make sense for them to be on another team.

The teaser “Survive” was revealed to be a new ongoing called Avengers Arena. This series, by Dennis Hopeless and Kev Walker is about a group of teen heroes trapped in Arcade’s Murderworld. Marvel.com posted a q&a with the creators.

The characters include a bunch of Avengers Academy kids, some of the Runaways, couple of characters from the Annihilation series and some new ones. Not sure how this can be an ongoing when the book promises that characters will die and eventually the kids all either have to die or escape. But this is definately one to watch.

Thunderbolts returns as part of Marvel Now! with a new team and a new mission. The “lighting” teaser revealed the new book’s creative team of Daniel Way and Steve Dillon. Newsarama spoke with Way about the book.

The last teaser, Superior, has no creative team attached and has yet to be revealed. Could this be the long awaited return of Miracleman, aka Marvelman?
