The performers behind the voices of Pokémon‘s Ash Ketchum, Dragon Ball Z‘s Vegeta, and Black Lagoon‘s Dutch set to appear at Fan Expo Vancouver 2013.
Veteran voice actress Veronica Taylor, most famously known for playing protagonist Ash Ketchum in the original English-dubbed version of Pokémon, has been added to the guest list for Fan Expo Vancouver 2013 (April 20–21, 2013, Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver, BC, Canada). Taylor has over 100 voice acting credits to her name, including playing the roles of April O’Neil in the 2003–2009 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series, Scarlett in G.I. Joe: Sigma Six, Amelia in Slayers, Slayers Next, and Slayers Try, and in one of her earliest roles, Seita and Setsuko’s mother in the English-language edition of the Studio Ghibli classic Grave of the Fireflies.
Voice actor Brian Drummond has also been confirmed as joining the list of the Expo’s Anime Special Guests. Drummond has over 150 animation and video game voice actor credits to his name, although perhaps none are more fondly remembered by fans than his turn as the villain/anti-hero Vegeta on the original English dub of the popular Dragon Ball Z TV series. Drummond’s other notable roles include playing Jetstorm on Beast Machines: Transformers, Andrew Waltfeld on Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny, and Benny in Black Lagoon.
Actor and stuntman Dean Redman is also scheduled to make an appearance in the two-day convention. Redman’s voice-acting credits include playing Nick Fury on Iron Man: Armored Adventures and Dutch on Black Lagoon.
