NEWS | Avatar Press, Kazé titles debut on comiXology

Thirty Avatar Press titles to be available platform-wide and 20 titles “too extreme for mobile” are restricted to the comiXology site. Also, translated and Original French language manga from VIZ Media Europe subsidiary Kazé to be available in select Francophone countries.

October 9, 2013 (New York, NY) – Comixology announced earlier today that it has entered into an exclusive digital distribution agreement with Avatar Press, publisher of titles such as Garth Ennis’ notorious horror series Crossed, Alan Moore’s Bram Stoker Award-winning graphic novel Neonomicon, and Warren Ellis’ satirical superhero send-up Supergod. The multi-year exclusive agreement covers Avatar Press’ English Language single-issue catalog. Over 50 single issues are now available, 30 of which can be found platform-wide and 20 “too extreme for mobile” issues restricted to reading on the web at comiXology.com.

  • David Lapham’s Ferals #1–6 (certain issues not available on mobile device apps)
  • Jonathon Hickman’s God Is Dead #1
  • Alan Moore’s Neonomicon #1–4 (certain issues not available on mobile device apps)
  • Warren Ellis’ No Hero #0–7
  • Warren Ellis’ Supergod #1–5
  • Kieron Gillen’s Uber #0–5

kazecomixologyipadIn addition, comiXology also revealed that it has secured the digital distribution rights to comics material from VIZ Media Europe’s subsidiary in France, Kazé. Today’s launch will initially see Kazé’s library of translated and Original French Language manga content made available for readers to purchase across comiXology’s mobile apps and website in the following Francophone countries and territories: France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Monaco.

Additional content from VIZ Media Europe, a subsidiary of the leading Japanese based manga publishers Shūeisha and Shōgakukan, and its network of European licensors, will also become available on the comiXology platform as the partnership grows.
