NEWS | Blue Estate: The Game launches on the Playstation Network for the PS4 console

The video game prequel to one of our favorite comics of 2011/2012 hits the Playstation Network for the PS4 console today, set to launch on the Xbox One at a later date.

The video game prequel to Viktor Kalvachev’s Blue Estate (Image Comics) hits the Playstation Network (PSN) today in North America and tomorrow in Europe (where it has been assigned a PEGI 16 rating). It is priced as a $19.99 download for North American PSN users, and Playstation Plus members are also eligible for a 20% discount off the retail price.

For now, the game is available solely for Sony’s Playstation 4 console, but it is also slated to come out for Microsoft’s Xbox One console at a later date.

Developed by Paris-based games firm HESAW and published by Focus Home Interactive, the game is a first-person perspective rail shooter that puts the player in the virtual shoes of two characters from the comic: Tony Luciano, the dumb-as-a-brick mob heir, and ex-military man and all-around troubleshooter Clarence. The game offers single-player and two-player coop gameplay modes.

The wacky crime-comedy Blue Estate was one of our favorite comics of 2011/2012, and we’re interested to see how the comic’s humor and aesthetics translate to the video game medium. Anybody want to donate a PS4 to the Geeksverse staff?
