Jason Pearson returns to Body Bags with the aid of Kickstarter.
Before Mark Millar and John Romita. Jr. introduced the world to Kick Ass‘s Hit-Girl and Big Daddy, artist/writer Jason Pearson had already created Body Bags, a comic featuring the father-and-daughter duo of assassins— “bodybaggers”— of Mack and the teenaged daughter, Panda. Launched in 1996 by Dark Horse Comics under the Blanc Noir imprint, Body Bags was a violent and bloody series but it was also excellent. Always written and drawn by Pearson, he returned to Body Bags many times over the years with miniseries from Dark Horse as well as Image Comics.
And now, with our help, he hopes to return to the series. Pearson is looking to launch a new Body Bags graphic novel adventure entitled Body Bags: Don’t Die Until I Kill You and is using Kickstarter to do so.
I’ve always been a big fan of Pearson’s work and this was one of my favorite series back in the day. I’ve already backed this project, will you? The Kickstarter was launched midday on the 22nd of October with a time of 27 days. As of midnight on the first day, it was over 75% funded. There are digital and print versions of the new story available, as well as reward levels that will get your prints or trade paperbacks of the previous Body Bag stories.
